Bei der Verbrennung entsteht dann ein aggressives, dampfförmiges Säure-Wasser-Gemisch, aus dem ein reaktives Kondensat entsteht. Dieses wird in metallbasierten Wärmetauschern schnell zu einem Problem, da es metallische Komponenten angreift und sogar zum Ausfall der Anlage führen kann. Außerdem ist das in diesem Vorgang entstehende Kondensat oft mit Schwermetallen belastet, die schädlich für die Umwelt sind. Wärmetauscherrohre aus Kunststoff bieten eine zuverlässige Lösung für den Wärmeaustausch mit geringeren Umweltauswirkungen.
